Brink and Cotet take two wins at Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships

Tulsa, Okla. - Kriegler Brink, a sophomore from Gauteng, South Africa, continued his strong play as he defeated Mark Rutherford of Marquette 6-3, 6-4 in the prequalifying first round, and Tennessee's Tcherveniachki 6-7(2), 6-2, 6-3 in the second round.

TCU junior Cosmin Cotet also recorded two victories, as he defeated Olexsander Kotsiuk of Oklahoma State 6-3, 6-3 in the prequalifying first round, and Niklas Persson of Denver 7-6(5), 6-0 in the second round.

"I was very happy with today's results," said TCU head coach Dave Borelli. "Kriegler and Cosmin played very, very well."

Both Brink and Cotet advanced to the third round, where the winner moves on to the singles qualifiers. Brink will face No. 8 Jan Zelezny of LSU, while Cotet will meet LSU's James Cluskey. Both matches will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

In other first round action for the Frogs, senior Andrew Ulrich fell to Derek Stephens of Tennessee 6-4, 6-2. Also, Evan West of Butler defeated Stuart Row 6-4, 4-6, 6-0, while Radu Barbu fell to Arizona's Peter Zimmer 6-2, 7-6(6).

"I was pleased with the progress that Andrew and Radu made today," said Borelli.
