FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's tennis team will open the 2007-08 season on Friday at the seventh annual H.E.B. Baylor Intercollegiate in Waco, Texas.

TCU will be one of 21 schools represented in the tournament, which includes Baylor, Boise State, Cal Baptist, Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Lamar, Laredo CC, Louisville, Mississippi, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, San Diego, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UT-Arlington, UT-San Antonio, Texas Tech, Wichita State and Wisconsin.

The tournament field will be loaded with talent, as 25 players participating in the tournament are currently ranked in the Fila/ITA preseason collegiate tennis rankings, and seven players are currently in the top 50.

The tournament will consist of two 64-player singles draws, green (A) and gold (B), and a 32-team draw in green doubles and 16-team draw in gold doubles.

Seven Horned Frogs will make the trip to Waco, including Kriegler Brink, Caleb Bulls, Zach Nichols, Alex Panayides, Casey Powers, Jack Seider and Adrian Simon. TCU will be without senior Cosmin Cotet, who is currently competing in the main draw of a Futures event in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Only two players who earned letters last year, Brink and Bulls, will be in action this weekend, as four true freshmen will also be competing. Jack Seider will see his first action as a Horned Frog after sitting out last year due to eligibility. Sophomore Mike Donovan will redshirt this season.

Brink and Cotet are currently ranked in the preseason Fila/ITA poll, with Cotet at No. 54 in singles and Brink and Cotet ranked No. 22 in doubles play.
