TCU senior Cosmin Cotet has won five consecutive matches at the USA F23 Futures event

COSTA MESA, Calif. - TCU senior men's tennis player Cosmin Cotet notched his fifth consecutive win on Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over No. 3 Michael Yani in the opening round of the USA F23 Futures main draw.

Cotet won four matches in the qualifying draw to be able to enter the main draw. Cotet earned his fourth straight sets victory with Wednesday's win over Yani, who formerly played the No. 1 position at Duke and is currently ranked No. 504 in singles play.

Cotet will face Will Gray in the main draw's round of 16 on Thursday. Gray, currently a senior at Tulsa, played primarily at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions for the Golden Hurricane a year ago and reached as high as No. 34 in the collegiate singles ranking.
