TCU senior Cosmin Cotet has won three consecutive matches at the F23 Futures event

COSTA MESA, Calif. - TCU men's tennis player Cosmin Cotet won his third consecutive match in straight sets on Sunday to advance to the qualifying round of 16 at the USA F23 Futures tournament in Costa Mesa, Calif.

After an opening round victory over Mlandeli Ndlela (ZIM) on Friday, Cotet downed Kevin Kaiser (USA) 6-0, 6-2 on Saturday to advance to the round of 32. On Sunday, Cotet defeated Aaron Badart of the United States 6-1, 6-1 to keep his run at the main draw alive.

Cotet, who is seeded No. 3 in the qualifying draw, will face Sebastian Rivera (ECU) on Monday.
