Men's Tennis Releases 2013-14 Schedule

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU men's tennis coach David Roditi announced the 2013-14 schedule on Monday, with the Horned Frogs set to take on at least nine NCAA Tournament participants.
TCU, the reigning ITA national attendance leader, will play 15 ranked opponents in the upcoming season, with eight of those matches to be played at the Bernard J. `Tut' Bartzen Varsity Courts at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The 2013-14 slate will have the Frogs facing teams from 10 different conferences, including the SEC, PAC-12 and ACC.
The Frogs' schedule includes seven fall tournaments, beginning with the Midland Invitational on Sept. 13-15 in Midland, Texas. TCU's fall schedule also includes the ITA All-American (Sept. 28-Oct. 6), USTA Futures (Oct. 7-13), ITA Regionals in Waco (Oct. 19-22), UT Fall Invite in Austin (Oct. 25-27) and the ITA National Indoor Singles and Doubles Championship in New York (Nov. 7-10). The Frogs will also host the TCU Men's Tennis Reunion on Oct. 11-13.
After a two-month break, TCU returns to the court with the UCF Hidden Dual in Orlando, Fla. (Jan. 9-12), along with the NCTC Collegiate Classic in Indian Wells, Calif. (Jan. 17-19). The Frogs will also take part in the ITA National Kick-Off Weekend in Gainsville, Fla., where TCU will take on Florida State in the first round. Florida and UNC Wilmington will also be on hand, with the winner of the four-team tournament advancing to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in College Station on Feb. 13-16.
Non-conference match-ups with North Carolina and UT Arlington are on the schedule before the Frogs start their home season with the TCU Spring Invitational at the Friedman Center. TCU is set to welcome USC Upstate, San Francisco and Lamar.
Following the invitational, TCU will face four teams that finished the 2013 season ranked in the top 25. No. 23 Texas and No. 25 Tulsa will make their way Bartzen Varsity Courts on Mar. 1 and Mar. 2, respectively, before the team travels to No. 8 Pepperdine on Mar. 8 and No. 17 Cal on Mar. 11.
A return to Fort Worth to face top 50 ranked opponents Middle Tennessee, Columbia and Texas A&M Corpus Christi are in order, before the Frogs travel to No.14 Texas A&M to face off against the Aggies. TCU will round out the month of March with the start of Big 12 play as the team welcomes Oklahoma State and No. 13 Oklahoma on Mar. 28 and Mar. 30, respectively.
A quick trip to Dallas to face SMU will start the month of April for the Frogs before heading to Austin to face the Longhorns for the second time in the season for a conference match. TCU returns home to face No. 12 Baylor on April 8 and top 50 opponent Rice on April 12, before taking a road trip to Texas Tech to conclude regular season conference action on April 20.
TCU will host the 2014 Big 12 Conference Tournament on April 24-27 at the Friedman Tennis Center. The first round of NCAA Championship action begins on May 9-11. Georgia will host the NCAA Championships on May 15-26 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
The Frogs return six players from last year's team that finished ranked No. 38 in the nation.
