FORT WORTH, Texas - The 2006 NCAA Men's and Women's Tennis selection announcements will air live Wednesday on ESPNEWS. The men's 64-team field will be announced at 7:30 p.m. (CDT) and the women's brackets will follow at approximately 7:45. Both teams earned automatic berths into the event by winning the Mountain West Conference Championships.
After posting an 11-0 record in league play and grabbing the 2006 Mountain West Conference regular-season and tournament championships in its inaugural season, the TCU women's tennis team will head into the 2006 NCAA Tournament ranked 16th in the ITA polls. This is the third straight appearance for the Horned Frog women.
The men's team claimed the MWC Tournament title by downing 49th-ranked and defending champion San Diego State 4-1 in the title match. TCU will garner the No. 32 spot in the ITA polls heading into the NCAAs. This is the 16th consecutive NCAA for TCU.
