TCU prepares for MWC Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's tennis team will open the Mountain West Conference Championships on Friday at 2 p.m. CDT in the semifinals against No. 5 BYU at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the campus of TCU. The Horned Frogs are the top seed for this year's tournament.
The Frogs, ranked No. 36 nationally, are currently 18-7 overall this season and went 5-1 in regular season conference play to capture a share of the MWC regular season title.
TCU senior Cosmin Cotet was named the MWC Co-Player of the Year on Wednesday night, while Emanu Brighiu, Kriegler Brink and Cotet earned All-MWC singles honors. The duo of Brink and Cotet also earned all-conference doubles accolades.
BYU defeated fourth-seeded UNLV on Thursday by a score of 4-2 in the quarterfinals. The Frogs defeated the Cougars by a score of 6-1 earlier this season. TCU holds a 7-0 advantage over BYU in the all-time series dating back to the 1989 season.
