TCU men's tennis heads to Texas A&M for midweek match

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 32 TCU men's tennis team returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to College Station, Texas, to take on No. 22 Texas A&M.

Texas A&M (8-4) is coming off a 5-2 win over No. 27 Georgia Tech and a 7-0 victory versus Abilene Christian on Monday. The Aggies are currently on a 10-match home winning streak dating back to last season.

TCU fell to No. 6 Baylor in its last match to drop to 6-4 on the season. The Frogs won the last matchup versus Texas A&M, 4-3, on Feb. 18, 2004, to up their series lead to 33-11.

TCU sophomore Andrei Mlendea makes his first appearance in the ITA singles poll, coming in at No. 64. Mlendea recorded the biggest win of his Horned Frog career with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Baylor's No. 4 Lars Poerschke.

Senior Rafael Abreu is currently ranked No. 70 in the ITA singles poll and fellow senior Jacopo Tezza is 8-1 in singles play.

Match time for Wednesday's contest is scheduled for 6 p.m.
