FORT WORTH – The TCU men’s tennis team takes a three-match winning streak into a Wednesday doubleheader with Prairie View A&M and Columbia at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The No. 36-ranked Horned Frogs are 10-4 on the year and have won three-straight matches. They will face PVAMU (5-10) at 11 a.m., before taking on No. 32 Columbia at 5:30 p.m. The Lions are 8-4 this season and take on SMU on Tuesday evening.
Wednesday’s matchup will be the first all-time between TCU and the Panthers. TCU has faced Columbia in each of the five previous seasons. The Frogs hold a 3-2 edge in the series, though the Lions grabbed a 6-1 win a year ago. Each match has been in Fort Worth.
Senior Orlando Superlano is 11-2 this spring and has been TCU’s top performer in singles. Sophomore Arnau Dachs has a 10-3 mark and is 21-5 overall including his fall results. Dachs has played 12 of his 13 matches at the No. 2 position.
In doubles, TCU has claimed the doubles point in its last four matches with three of those leading to TCU match victories. Sophomores Nick Chappell and Will Stein have moved up to the No. 1 position and are 9-3 this spring. Dachs and Superlano hold a 7-3 mark.
Columbia boasts one player in the ITA singles rankings as Winston Lin checks in at No. 34. Ashok Narayana and Max Schnur make up the nation’s No. 24-ranked doubles duo.
