March 17, 2008
FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 27 TCU men's tennis team will play host to Columbia on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The Horned Frogs picked up a big win against No. 22 Wake Forest on Friday to move to 11-4 this season.
Three Frogs are currently ranked in singles play, led by senior Cosmin Cotet at No. 21 nationally. Freshmen Adrian Simon and Zach Nichols are ranked No. 115 and No. 122, respectively. TCU junior Kriegler Brink remains undefeated in singles action with a 14-0 record.
TCU defeated the Demon Deacons at home on Friday, snapping a three-match losing streak that came on the road to three ranked teams. The Horned Frogs' No. 27 ranking is the highest in nearly two years, as TCU has climbed 35 spots since its preseason ranking of No. 62.
The Columbia men's tennis team will enter Tuesday's contest with a 5-1 overall record. The Lions haven't competed since Feb. 29, when they shutout Army by a score of 7-0.
