FORT WORTH - TCU's men's tennis team renews one of its oldest rivalries Saturday when No. 16 Texas A&M visits the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The 67th-ranked Horned Frogs are 4-1 on the year and are riding a three-match winning streak. The Aggies are 4-0 and last weekend advanced to the ITA National Team Indoors with two wins at the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
Saturday's matchup will be the 52nd meeting all-time between the two programs, the second most of any opponent in TCU's history. TCU has faced only SMU, another former Southwest Conference foe, more times (54).
TCU holds a 34-17 edge in the series, though A&M has claimed the last six meetings. The Aggies won 6-1 a year ago in College Station. The Frogs last knocked off A&M in 2006, claiming a 4-3 win on the road.
Sophomore Arnau Dachs has been brilliant thus far for the Frogs, racking up a 5-0 record in singles. Four of those wins have come in straight sets, landing him at No. 100 in the ITA singles rankings. Rodolfo Bustamante and Facundo Lugones are both 4-0 on the year.
In singles, sophomores Nick Chappell and Will Stein have tallied a 4-0 mark from their No. 2 doubles position, while the tandem of Arnau Dachs and Orlando Superlano is 3-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Two Aggies are ranked among the nation's top-103 players in No. 87 Jordan Szabo and No. 103 Jeremy Efferding. Texas A&M also boasts the No. 6-ranked doubles duo in the ITA doubles rankings.
The match will offer many opportunities for fans to sample free food from area restaurants. As always, free pizza from Buffalo Bros. will be on hand. Other
