TCU men's tennis adds three
Jan. 19, 2006 FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU men's tennis coach Joey Rive´ announced the additions of Andrei Mlenda, Kriegler Brink and Cosmin Cotet to the Horned Frog squad Thursday. The trio will compete for TCU during the 2006 season. Currently ranked 730th by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), Mlenda is a former No. 1 player in Europe and comes to TCU after spending his first season at the University of Romania. "I am very excited about the prospect of Andrei choosing to come to TCU," Rive´ stated. "He will make an immediate impact on our team." Also a former No. 1 junior, Brink hails from South Africa and is currently rated No. 1,516 in the ATP rankings. The freshman is the only left-hander for the Frogs in 2006. "Kriegler has a lot of talent and is great in doubles play," Rive´ explained. "He has the potential to be a great college player." Cotet rounds out the 2006 TCU recruiting class and also began his collegiate career at the University of Romania. With a career-high ATP ranking of 808th, Cotet currently holds the 816th ranking. "I am very excited about all of our new guys," Rive´ continued. "We could not have done a better job recruiting and I can not wait to get them in here with the other talent we have. I am looking forward to a great season." As a squad, the Horned Frogs begin the 2006 season on Friday, Jan. 27, when they host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Match time is slated for 2 p.m.
