FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's tennis team begins the 2006 season ranked 50th according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association polls released on Tuesday. Senior Rafael Abreu is the lone Horned Frog ranked in the singles preseason poll, garnering a No. 69 ranking.

Abreu comes into the season after pairing with 2005 Conference USA Player of the Year Fabrizio Sestini a year ago to finish with a No. 18 ranking in doubles play. The Barquisimeto, Venezuela, product finished 14-14 in singles play.

Off the heels of their 20 NCAA Tournament appearance, the Frogs look to continue their success in the newly aligned Mountain West Conference.

The Frogs completed the 2005 season with a record of 8-15 and were ranked 49th in the final poll.

TCU kicks off the 2006 season on Friday, Jan. 20, at the Rice Invitational held in Houston, Texas.
