ITA All-American Run Ends for TCU's Sestini

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. TCU's Fabrizio Sestini won his first match then faltered in the next to end his run in the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championships Thursday at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn. Sestini, ranked No. 73 in the nation, upset 41st-ranked Jamil Al-Agba from Southern California in the first round, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5. California's No. 17-rated Conor Niland defeated Sestini later in the day in straight sets, 6-0, 7-6(4). Sestini's fall singles record stands at 8-2, including a 3-1 mark against ranked opponents. Sestini and Rafael Abreu were stunned in their first-round match in doubles by Shannon Buck and Tyler McClung from Air Force, 8-5. The loss was the first of the fall for the nation's No. 8-ranked duo. Sestini and Abreu will now attempt to make a push in the consolation portion of the doubles starting Friday, Oct. 8, against LSU's Mark Growcott and Jason Hazley at 12:30 p.m. CDT.
