Jacopo Tezza Charges on at Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championships

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. TCU Horned Frog sophomore Jacopo Tezza continued his run in the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championships Saturday at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn. The sophomore from Verona, Italy, won his third-straight match in the pre-qualifying rounds of the event, defeating Ole Miss' Fredrik Aarum in three sets, 6-2, 1-6, 6-0, to slide into the round of 32. Tezza will face another Southeastern Conference opponent in Danny Bryan of LSU tomorrow at 8 a.m. CDT. Tezza was also in action with freshman Robert Gallman in doubles. The tandem advanced by virtue of a default in the first round and then took out Robbye Poole and Brett Twente of Clemson, 8-3. Ball State's Matt Laramore and Brad Rhodes await them in the round of 32 Sunday at 10:30 a.m. CDT. TCU's other doubles duo of Rafael Abreu and Fabrizio Sestini captured a win in the first round over Ben Cappuccitti and Chris Cozad of Illinois State, 8-3. They were dropped in their next contest with Matt Mayer and Octavian Nicodim of Louisville, 8-6. SATURDAY'S RESULTS
