Sestini Rolls Into Semis at Baylor Intercollegiate

WACO, Texas Senior Fabrizio Sestini cruised into the semifinals of the main draw at the Baylor Intercollegiate in Waco, Texas, Saturday. Ranked 73rd in the nation, Sestini fought off Alex Gonzales from Laredo Community College in the morning 7-6, 7-5 and upset No. 47-rated Jeremy Blandin from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in his afternoon quarterfinal match 6-2, 6-4. Sestini faces Joseph Jung of Alabama in the semis of the Gold Singles Sunday at 8 a.m. CDT. TCU's 56th-tabbed duo of Jordan Freitas and Jacopo Tezza reached the semis in the main draw of doubles, getting a walkover in their first match and a 9-8 triumph over Michal Kokta and Matija Zgaga from Baylor in the quarterfinals. Jacob Martin and Andrew Ulrich picked up an 8-6 victory against New Mexico's Max Jones and David Kowalski in the round of 16 before losing in the quarters. Sestini and Rafael Abreu, ranked No. 8, won two matches--one by walkover--and will face Freitas and Tezza in the semis. Martin and Tezza both advanced to the semis in the backdraw of the Gold Singles, winning two matches on the day. Ulrich reached the championship match of the consolation Green Singles draw after a pair of victories as welll.
