FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's tennis team received singles wins from the top four positions en route to a 4-2 victory over No. 46 New Mexico on Sunday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The win secured a No. 2 seed for TCU in the Mountain West Conference Championships.
The win improved the Horned Frogs to 9-11 overall and 5-1 in MWC play, while dropping New Mexico to 14-8 on the season and 3-3 in conference action.
"Today's win is in the top three for most wonderful moments for me as a coach," said TCU head coach Dave Borelli. "One was winning my first national championship and the other was defeating Texas last year with the women in the NCAA second round, so it's nice that two of those moments have come here at TCU.
"I got a lot of satisfaction as a coach to see how well our guys performed today."
The match started with singles, and TCU won at the top four positions to clinch the victory, resulting in no doubles play.
Kriegler Brink put the Frogs on the board to even the score at 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-0 defeat of New Mexico's Miles Bugby at the No. 4 position.
With TCU trailing 2-1, the remaining three singles matches continued into third sets. Christopher Biro evened the match with a hard fought 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory over Johnny Parkes at the No. 2 slot. The win was Biro's 10th in the last 11 contests.

TCU also entered the conference championships as a No. 2 seed last season, as the Frogs went on to capture the tournament title. The men will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. to take part in the championships on April 26-29.
