No. 23 TCU defeats Wichita State, 6-0

FORT WORTH, Texas - The 23rd-ranked TCU Horned Frogs improved to 8-6 on the season with a 6-0 win over Wichita State on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Jacopo Tezza recorded his 11th victory of the season with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 victory at court No. 4. Hailing from Verona, Italy, Tezza was the first Horned Frog to grab a win. With the victory, Tezza is now 11-1 on the spring season and has won six of his last seven matches. Sophomore Andrei Mlendea recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 over Wichita State's Boris Gubic. Mlendea is the reining Mountain West Conference Player of the Week after knocking off eighth-ranked Jerry Makowski (6-3, 7-6(4)) of Texas A&M on March 22. Freshman Kriegler Brink got the nod at court No. 6 and dismantled Moti Eisikovits 6-3, 6-1. Junior Radu Barbu clinched the match for the Horned Frogs with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at No. 3 over Wichita State's Tiago Espirito Santo. After suffering a 6-3 defeat in the first set, senior Rafael Abreu battled his way to a 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 victory versus Goran Vujaklija. Sophomore Cosmin Cotet completed the TCU sweep with a 6-4, 4-6,(10-8) win at No. 5. The Frogs will play match two of their doubleheader at 6 p.m. versus Abilene Christian.
