No. 31 TCU grounds Falcons, 7-0

LAS VEGAS - The No. 31 TCU men's tennis team opened Mountain West Conference play with a 7-0 shutout of Air Force on Thursday. With the win, the Horned Frogs improved to 14-5 this season, while the Falcons dropped to 10-9 overall.
The Frogs opened the match with a sweep of doubles play to jump out to the 1-0 lead. The 45th-ranked TCU duo of Kriegler Brink and Cosmin Cotet downed Brett Rodgers and Taylor Soster at the top position by a score of 8-2 to improve to 12-5 this season. Emanu Brighiu and Zach Nichols posted an 8-5 win over Austin Francis and Alex Beaussart at No. 2, while the TCU duo of Jack Seider and Caleb Bulls cruised past Mike Gies and Johnny Buckingham by a score of 8-3.
TCU won all six singles matches in straight sets to earn the 7-0 victory. At the top position, No. 29 Cotet defeated Rodgers by a score of 6-1, 6-2 to move to 14-5 this season, while Brighiu posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over Francis at the No. 2 spot.
Brink improved to 17-1 this season with a dominating 6-0, 6-1 victory over Soster, while Nichols pushed his singles mark to 16-3 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Buckingham at the No. 4 position.
Seider posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Beaussart at the No. 5 spot, while fellow freshman Casey Powers defeated Gies by a score of 6-4, 7-5 at the No. 6 position.
The Frogs will face BYU in Las Vegas on Friday at 12 p.m. CDT.
