FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 27 TCU men's tennis team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 4-3 victory over No. 22 Wake Forest on Friday night at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. With the win, the Horned Frogs improve to 11-4 this season, while the Demon Deacons drop to 9-5 overall.

"We've had so many close matches as of late, and it was nice to pull one out against a really good team," said TCU head coach Dave Borelli. "I'm so proud of all of the guys."

Wake Forest jumped out to the early 1-0 lead by winning doubles matches at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. The lone TCU win came when Adrian Simon and Emanu Brighiu teamed up to defeat Carlos Salmon and Jason Morgenstern by a score of 8-5 to avoid the sweep.

TCU senior Cosmin Cotet, ranked No. 21 in singles play, put the Frogs on the board with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over No. 73 Steven Forman at the top position.

Kriegler Brink followed to put TCU up 2-1 in the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Salmon at the No. 4 slot. Brink improved to 14-0 this season with the win.

After both Brighiu and Simon fell in their respective matches, freshman Jack Seider came through with the win to knot the match at 3-3. Seider, a native of Austin, Texas, dropped the first set 6-2, but fought back to win the remaining two sets against Wake Forest's Morgenstern by a score of 6-2, 6-2.

"The key to the whole match was Jack," Borelli said. "He was sick in the fall and really struggled, and it was nice to see him step up and play up to his abilities."

With the match on the line, freshman Zach Nichols came through for TCU once again with a 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(5) victory over Jonathan Wolff at the No. 5 position to seal the win.

"With Zach, you know what you're going to get, which is his full effort all of the time," said Borelli.

The Frogs will return to action on Tuesday at 2 p.m. when they will play host to Columbia.
