BATON ROUGE, La. - The No. 56 TCU men's tennis team was defeated by No. 20 LSU 6-1 on Tuesday at the W.T. "Dub" Robinson Tennis Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. The loss dropped TCU to 1-3 on the season, while improving LSU's record to 6-1.

The Frogs found themselves down early, having to forfeit No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles due to Christopher Biro battling an illness.

"I've never had a day like this with all of the bad luck, but overall I thought that we still competed pretty well," said TCU head coach Dave Borelli. "We have some tough opponents ahead of us, so we just have to maintain our focus and keep improving"

The doubles duo of Kriegler Brink and Cosmin Cotet fell to the No. 25 team of Bryan and Gaston, 8-1, while the TCU tandem of Stuart Row and Andrew Ulrich was defeated 8-1 by the No. 6 pair of Cluskey and Skupski.

Brink, a sophomore from Gauteng, South Africa, highlighted play for the Frogs with an impressive 6-4, 6-3 victory over LSU's Colt Gaston in the No. 2 slot. Cotet also had a solid outing, as the junior had No. 24 Ken Skupski on the ropes before falling in a second set tiebreaker. Cotet was forced to retire due to a sprained ankle, and lost the match 6-0, 6-7, ret.

"I was extremely happy with how Kriegler and Cosmin played today," Borelli said. "They were both unbelievable."

The Frogs will return to action on March 4, when they travel to Waco, Texas, to face Baylor at 1 p.m.
