Sestini Knocks Off Nation's No. 2 Tennis Player in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico Fabrizio Sestini from the No. 17 TCU men's tennis team upset the nation's No. 2-ranked player Friday in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at the Puerto Rico Tennis Invitational. Sestini, rated No. 34, downed Ryler DeHeart from Illinois in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5. Jacob Martin also registered a win against the Fighting Illini by upending Ruben Gonzales, 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-3. TCU lost its other four matches with Illinois in straight sets. The Horned Frogs took on No. 35 Georgia Tech in singles later in the day but managed only one victory out of six matches. Martin provided the sole victory by beating Sukhwa Young in two sets, 7-6(6), 6-2. The rest of the Frogs fell in straight sets, except for Jacopo Tezza, who lost 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to Marco Rajevac. Play at the Puerto Rico Tennis Invitational concludes Saturday. Rafael Abreu, Jordan Freitas, Martin and Andrew Ulrich will be the only Frogs competing in singles.
