TCU Swimmers to Compete in Olympic Trials
FORT WORTH, TX -- Two swimmers from TCU will be
competing in the Olympic trials in Indianapolis, Indiana with a
chance to represent the United States in the 2000 Olympic Games, set for
Sydney, Australia later this summer.
Aaron Ewert, a sophomore Horned Frog will compete on Friday, August 11 in the 100-meter backstroke. Aaron will represent the City of Richardson (COR), his hometown swim club where he competed prior to coming to TCU. Aaron made his Olympic trial qualifying time at the WAC championships in San Antonio in February. Scott Adkins, a junior Horned Frog will compete on Sunday, August 13 in the 200-meter breaststroke. Scott will represent El Paso Aqua Posse (EPAP), his hometown swim club where he competed prior to his arrival at TCU. Scott also made his Olympic trial qualifying time at the WAC championships in San Antonio in February. Over 1,300 swimmers from across the country will be competing in 26 events from August 9-16 in Indianapolis, with the top two finishers in each event advancing to the Olympics. |
