INDIANAPOLIS - After capturing four more wins on Monday, TCU's men's swimming team continues to lead the Conference USA Men's Invitational meet in Indianapolis. On the women's side, TCU won two league crowns and set three school records, moving into third place of the C-USA Championships. Only one day remains in both meets at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis.

The men holds an 80-point lead over second-place East Carolina (642-562), thanks to two individual victories and a pair of relay triumphs Monday.

Leading the way for TCU were senior Scott Adkins (El Paso, Texas/Franklin), junior Aaron Ewert (Dallas, Texas/Garland) and sophomore Aaron McLachlan (Arvada, Colo./Pomona/U. of Nebraska) with two wins apiece. The trio opened the day by joining up with junior Dana Kizer (League City, Texas/Clear Creek) to notch victory in the 200-yard medley relay (1:30.77).

Adkins and Ewert went on to claim individual wins in the 100 breast (56.98) and 100 back (49.60), respectively. The victories ran Ewert's win total for the weekend to four (three relay and one individual), while Adkins has garnered three crowns (two relay, one solo).

McLachlan was also part of the Horned Frogs' fourth and final win of the day in the men's invitational, as part of the victorious 800-yard free relay. Other members of the Frogs' triumphant squad were juniors Byron Coyle (Mooresville, N.C./S. Iredell/Indian River) and Jeff Parkinson (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill) and freshman Joe Covey (Spokane, Wash./West Valley), which took the event in 6:44.94.

In the women's championships, the Lady Frogs jumped from fourth to third with a day remaining thanks to a pair of league titles and three school records, all which took second place in the meet. The Horned Frogs sit just 49 points behind leader East Carolina after Day Two.

TCU's senior co-captains Jamie MacCurdy (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior) and Marisa Schenke (Lee's Summit, Mo./North) notched the school's first-ever C-USA individual titles. MacCurdy won the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.91 while Schenke's 56.93 was good for the win in the 100 back.

The Horned Frogs also broke school records while claiming second place in three other events. Sophomore Erin Irons (Midland, Texas/Midland) broke her own school record with a time of 1:51.36 in the 200 free. Additionally, the Lady Frogs' 200 medley (1:45.12) and 800 free (7:36.35) set new school marks en route to second place C-USA finishes.

TCU's men look to maintain their lead in the Invitational while the women hope to rally for the first-ever C-USA team title tomorrow in the third and final day of C-USA action in Indianapolis.
