Men's Golf Reunion to Hold Reunion Next Weekend
Oct. 24, 2013
FORT WORTH - Spots are still available for the inaugural TCU men's golf reunion held on Nov. 1-2 in conjunction with the TCU vs. West Virginia football game.
Three-time TCU All-American and current PGA standout J.J. Henry, former Frog and 1971 Masters champion Charles Coody and longtime head coach Bill Montigel, who is in his 27th year at the program's helm, will serve as the reunion's hosts and would like to extend an invitation to all former players and coaches, as well as their spouse or date. The TCU Lettermen's Association is organizing the event.
"This is our first reunion we've held so we're trying to get all former players and coaches to attend that have all helped build this program and make it what it is today," Montigel said. "I'm really looking forward to reuniting with the guys that I've coached over the years and hope that everyone can reach out to former teammates to truly make this a great event."
The reunion weekend begins at 5:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 1, with a tour of the newly rebuilt Amon G. Carter Stadium. The group will meet at Gate 1 in the South Endzone for the stadium tour.
Following the tour, the group will meet at Joe T. Garcia's in the Fort Worth Stockyards for dinner at 7 p.m.
The Lettermen's Tailgate Feast opens Saturday's events prior to the football game at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni Center at 1 p.m. Tickets to the football game for reunion attendees will be available at the Lettermen's discounted rate of $35 each (normally $65) for the ticket block.
Those that are interested in attending the weekend's festivities are urged to sign up at their earliest convenience in order to get a count for Friday's dinner and Saturday's Lettermen's Tailgate Feast.
