AUSTIN, Texas - The TCU men's golf team resides in 12th place after a soggy opening round of the Morris Williams Intercollegiate at the Austin Country Club. The Horned Frogs shot a 15-over par 303 on the first 18 holes and are currently 14 strokes behind first-place BYU and six shots out of fifth place.

Monday's play was scheduled for 36 holes, but the second round was suspended due to darkness at approximately 6:30 p.m. (CT). The golfers had between two to five holes remaining in their round when play was halted.

Senior Bret Guetz paced the Frogs in the opening round, shooting an even-par 72. He currently sits in a tie for 10th place with teammate Stephen Polanski, but Polanski was invited to play in the event as an individual, and therefore his score does not count toward TCU's total.

Adam Rubinson (T-39th, 76), Andy Doeden (T-51st, 77), J.J. Killeen (T-56th, 78) and Steve Shuert (T-74th, 82) are TCU's other participants in the 36th annual tournament.

Second-round play is slated to resume on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Pairings for the third round will be the same as they were for the first and second rounds, with the final round scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. The 54-hole tournament features nine teams ranked in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin poll in its 15-team field. Last year TCU finished 14th at the event.
