FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior J.J. Killeen earned the first Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors for the spring season, the league office has announced. Killeen, who ranks 37th nationally according to the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, tied for 10th place at the prestigious Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev. from Mar. 11-13.

Killeen has finished in the top 10 in both of the Horned Frogs' events this spring and has placed among the top 20 in six of TCU's seven tourneys in 2004-05. He currently owns a team-best 72.19 scoring average on the season. This year, the Lubbock product will attempt to become the first golfer in school history to play on four conference championship teams.

It is the first C-USA weekly or monthly honor for a Frog this season and it also marks the first time that Killeen has earned such an award in his career. Previously, however, he was named C-USA's Co-Freshman of the Year in 2002 and was a second-team all-league performer last year.
