LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Mar. 7, 2003) - The TCU men's golf team, rated third in both the Golfweek rankings and the Precept Coaches' Poll, sits in sixth place among a prestigious 15-team field following the first round of the Toyota Las Vegas Collegiate. The Horned Frogs shot a team total of 286 (-2) and are five strokes behind tourney leader Texas (281).

With a score of 33, Rubinson was the lone Frog to play the par-36 front nine under par. So far, the senior has placed in the field's top 20 in five of the six events this season.
Sophomore J.J. Killeen carded a two-under 70 in his first tourney appearance of the spring season. He is tied for 10th position on the leaderboard thanks to a round that featured six birdies, a figured that matched Rubinson for the most by a Frog on day one.
