Brun Finishes Third on Final Day in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Junior Julien Brun earned a third-place finish to highlight action for the TCU men's golf team in the final round on Saturday at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate at the UNM Championship Course.
The Horned Frogs rounded out play with a seventh-place finish in a talented field of 16 squads following a round of 303 (+15). Host New Mexico was the lone squad to finish under par at -1 to claim the title, followed by Arizona State (+17), USC (+23), UNLV (+24) and BYU (+30).
Brun entered the final round in a tie for the overall lead but fired a 4-over 76 on the final 18 holes to finish even par, joining New Mexico's Andrej Bevins (-5) and Gavin Green (-5) as the lone competitors at even or under par in a field of 104. The Antibes, France, native logged his 19th career top-10 finish.
Sophomore Paul Barjon fired a 3-over 75 to round out the tournament at +7 (223) and finish in a tie for 16th spot overall, marking his fifth-career top-20 finish.
Freshman Chelso Barrett finished strong in his first collegiate tournament with a 3-over 75 to improve his standing by 17 spots on the final day. The Keene, N.H., native improved in each round over the weekend and rolled in three birdies on the final 18.
Junior Michael Culin recorded a strong start before knocking in bogeys in three of the final holes but still managed to keep his same standing (40th) with a final round of 77, while Sarosh Adi also carded a 5-over 77 after going 2-under over the final 11 holes.
The Frogs return to action on Monday, Oct. 14 at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate at Crooked Stick Golf Course in Indianapolis, Ind.
