ROCKY FACE, Ga. - The TCU men's golf team fired their best team score of 295 on Sunday at the The Farm Golf Club (par-72, 7,012 yards) to jump two positions and finish the Carpet Capital Collegiate in 14th place.

"This tournament gave us an opportunity to play against some great teams," said TCU head coach Bill Montigel. "It gives us a great barometer for how we measure up against good competition and what we need to work on."

The Frogs had an impressive start on Sunday on the front nine, going six-under par and moving up to 11th position at one point. All five players combined for an even par on the front nine, but ran into trouble on the back nine, combining for a 13-over par.

Travis Woolf led the Frogs for the second consecutive day with his third consecutive round of 72 to end the tournament at even par. Woolf, a sophomore from Fort Worth, ended the weekend in a tie for 10th position.

"I was really proud of Travis with his top 10 finish today," said Montigel.

Robby Ormand followed with a two-over par performance on Sunday to finish the tournament in 22nd place. Ormand jumped out to an incredible start on the front nine, tallying three birdies to go three-under par and move into third place overall. The Austin, Texas, native cooled back down on the back nine, hitting a triple bogey and two bogeys to score his second consecutive two-over par.

Freshman Ben Murray had another solid outing on Sunday, shooting a five-over par 77 to finish the tournament tied for 79th place. Like his teammates, Murray had a great front nine, ending at one-under after hitting three birdies, but shot a six-over par on the back nine to end the tournament.

James Sacheck and Franklin Corpening finished the tournament in 81st and 82nd position, respectively. Sacheck found difficulties on the front nine on Sunday, firing a five-over par, but bounced back on the final nine holes, shooting a one-over. After a rough first two days, Corpening put together a solid outing with an even par performance.

The Frogs will return to the links on Oct. 6 to take part in the Macdonald Cup in New Haven, Conn.
