Frogs complete opening round at Carpet Capital Collegiate

ROCKY FACE, Ga. - The TCU men's golf team finished the opening round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate at The Farm Golf Club (par-72, 7,012 yards) in 13th spot at 11-over par through 18 holes. Robby Ormand led the Frogs as he finished with a score of 71 to tie for fourth at 1-under par.
Ormand, a junior from Austin, Texas, had a very consistent opening round, collecting two birdies with only one bogey. Sophomore Travis Woolf also had an impressive first round, shooting an even par to tie for 11th spot. Woolf tallied a birdie on the second hole of the back nine, but collected two bogeys with a birdie to finish on the front nine.
James Sacheck finished the opening 18 holes in a tie for 58th position after shooting an opening round four-over par. Sacheck had a solid back nine, finishing one-over par, but hit a double bogey on the first hole of the front nine. After a birdie on the next hole, Sacheck collected bogeys on holes No. 4 and No. 5 to end at four-over par.
Ben Murray and Franklin Corpening completed the opening round with scores of eight-over par and nine-over par, respectively. Murray, who is tied for 81st position, hit two birdies on the back nine of his first collegiate tournament. Corpening is currently tied for 83rd position after a rough back nine which saw the senior hit five bogeys.
The Frogs completed the opening round on Saturday morning after Friday's action was postponed due to rain. The tournament's second round will begin at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday.
