The TCU men's golf program concluded its first day of action tied for 15th place at the 2008 NCAA Division I Central Regional Championships as the Horned Frogs notched an 18-hole tally of 302 at The Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday (May 15) afternoon.

Wake Forest University currently possesses the team lead at the NCAA Division I Central Regional Championships as the Demon Deacons finished with a six-over-par score of 290 while Alabama (292), Oklahoma State (293), Florida (294) and Eastern Michigan (297) rounded out the top-five.

The Frogs - who are appearing in their 19th consecutive NCAA Central Regional Championship - finished with an 18-over-par score of 302 - which places them in a tie for 15th place with Eastern Kentucky, Kent State and Wichita State. The Purple and White are currently only two strokes back of a place in the top-10 - which would advance them to the NCAA National Championships.

James Sacheck (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville H.S.) was the Frogs' top golfer at the NCAA Central Regional Championships as the TCU junior recorded a three-over-par score of 74 en route to tying for 24th place.

Franklin Corpening (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.), Robby Ormand (Austin, Texas/James Bowie H.S.) and Jordan Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington H.S.) all finished tied for 55th overall with a five-over-par score of 76 while Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) tied for 88th overall with a score of 78 during his first round of action for the Frogs.
