Men's Golf Climbs to Fourth at U.S. Collegiate

The TCU men's golf team jumped from seventh to fourth in the final round at the U.S. Collegiate. The Frogs final round team score of 283 was the best of the day and the fifth lowest round of the event. The final team total of 869 put the Frogs only 10 strokes behind tournament champion Texas.
Andy Doeden led the Frogs individually with his final round 70, which was good for a 54-hole total of 213 and a sixth place finish. Steve Shuert, competing as an individual, carded a final round 79 and a three-day score of 220 to tie for 16th. J.J. Killeen caught fire on the weekend, posting back-to-back rounds of 71 for a total of 221 and a tie for 20th. Also tied for 20th was Stephen Polanski who posted a team-best 69 on Sunday and a total of 221. Bret Guetz fired three rounds of 74 and his total of 222 placed him in a tie for 24th. Adam Rubinson carded a 73 in round three and a total of 225 to place in a tie for 36th.
The Frogs will compete next Friday and Saturday, April 12-13, in the ASU Thunderbird/Savane Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
