Thomas Mantovanini earned a spot in TCU's five-man lineup in the spring semester of his true freshman season ... competed in eight of the Horned Frogs' 14 events, including seven as a member of the lineup and once as an individual only (John Hayt Collegiate Invitational) ... proved to be one of the driving forces behind TCU's appearance at the NCAA Championship after posting his best career performance by far at the NCAA Central Regional ... tied for 11th place in Ann Arbor with a 3-under-par score of 210 after playing par or better in each of the three rounds (70-69-71) ... prior to the tournament, had only reached par in two of 18 competition rounds as a Frog ... his second-round 69 marks the low round of his TCU career ... finished as the No. 2 Frog on the leaderboard at the Regional ... his best previous finish as a Frog came at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, where he tied for 36th place in the 87-player field (+8) ... recorded his previous-low three-round total at the Insperity Augusta State Invitational (+3), tying for 48th place ... was the Frogs' fifth finisher in his first career appearance at the NCAA Championship held at The Riviera County Club ... concluded his freshman season as the No. 7 Brazilian amateur according to the R&A World Amatuer Rankings.
