Was a four-year letterwinner at Stevenson High School in Livonia, Mich.
Was well-honored as a high school golfer, grabbing team MVP laurels each year.
Tabbed as an all-state golfer each of his final two prep seasons and was named Mr. Golf for the state of Michigan his senior year.
Amateur Highlights
Tied for sixth at the 2003 Michigan Open with a two-over score.
Placed 14th at the 2003 Western Amateur.
Took second place at the 2002 Michigan Open after recording a 276 (72-72-66-66).
Qualified for the 2002 U.S. Amateur for the second straight year but missed the cut for the match play portion of the event after shooting rounds of 73-74 in stroke play.
Played in the 2001 U.S. Amateur stroke play event after tying for first at the West Bloomfield, Mich., qualifying site.
Had a two-day score of 151 to tie for 190th among the top 312 amateurs.
Crowned as the 2000 Northern Amateur champion.
Recorded a scoring average of 73.39 in 10 stroke play events and had five top-10 finishes in 1999.
