Frogs Crack The Top 10
Sept. 27, 2009
FORT WORTH, Texas -- Following a 14-10 victory at Clemson, its second road win against an ACC opponent in the season's opening three weeks, the TCU football team moved up four spots to No. 10 in this week's USA Today coaches' poll.
TCU, ranked 11th by the Associated Press, has its highest September ranking since it was ninth in the Sept. 21, 1959 AP poll.
The Horned Frogs have opened with a 3-0 record for the fourth time in the last seven seasons. On the three previous occasions (2003, 2006, 2008), the Frogs went on to win 11 games.
Dating back to last season, TCU has won five in a row to tie for the nation's fifth-longest current winning streak (Florida 14, Iowa 8, Texas 8, Kansas 6, LSU 5, Missouri 5, South Florida 5).
TCU hosts SMU Saturday at 7 p.m. in the State Farm DFW Duel - Battle for the Iron Skillet.
