ABOUT THE GAME
*TCU opens its 78th season at Amon G. Carter Stadium when it hosts Stephen F. Austin.
*The Horned Frogs are 212-161-16 (.566) in their history at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*Stephen F. Austin represents just the third opponent from the Football Championship Subdivision (previously called Division I-AA) that TCU has faced in Gary Patterson's eight seasons as head coach. The Frogs played Northwestern State in 2001 and UC Davis in 2006.
*TCU and Stephen F. Austin are meeting for the first time on the gridiron.
*Outside of the Sept. 27 date at Oklahoma in which television plans haven't been announced yet, this is the only TCU game not scheduled for national TV this season.

DEFENDING THEIR HOME
*Since 1999, TCU is 44-6 in its last 50 home games at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*TCU has recorded three shutouts in its past eight home dates. The Frogs blanked Baylor (27-0) and New Mexico (37-0) last season.
*Dating back to the 2005 campaign, the Frogs have held the opposition without a touchdown in seven of their last 14 home games.
*In their last nine home contests, the Frogs have outscored their opponents 279-73 (an average margin of 31-8).

HOME OPENERS
*TCU has won six straight home openers under head coach Gary Patterson. In four of those victories, the Frogs allowed 13 points or less.
*The Frogs' only loss in a home opener under Patterson came in 2001, in his first home game as head coach, when TCU dropped a 27-24 overtime decision to Northwestern State.

GOOD STARTS
*Last week's 26-3 win at New Mexico gave TCU its sixth consecutive season-opening victory, including four in a row on the road.
*TCU has allowed a combined 20 points in its last four season openers.
*The Frogs head into the Stephen F. Austin game looking to open 2-0 for the fourth time in the last six seasons.

OMENS
*The 26-3 win at New Mexico gave TCU its first victory in a Mountain West Conference opener since 2005, the last time it won the league championship. It was also TCU's first season in the MWC.
*The Frogs had dropped their previous two conference openers.
