POSITION BREAKDOWN: Cornerbacks
Aug. 17, 2007
Despite starting a pair of redshirt freshmen (Rafael Priest and Nick Sanders) in all 13 games last year, TCU allowed just nine touchdown passes to tie for the fifth-lowest total in the nation. Sanders (5-10, 174, So.), an honorable-mention Freshman All-American, tied for sixth in the MWC with 10 passes defended. He had three interceptions on the year, including one returned for a touchdown in a 31-17 win at Army. Priest (5-10, 163, So.) had a team-best nine pass break-ups. Torrey Stewart (5-11, 175, Sr.) came out of spring drills as the starter opposite Sanders. A junior college transfer, Stewart played very well at the close of last season. He posted an interception in each of the final three games.
