The TCU SuperFrog has been selected as one of 12 finalists in the 2009 Capital One All-America Mascot Challenge. Established in 2002, the Capitol One All-America Mascot Challenge annually crowns the top mascot in all of Division I.

SuperFrog is the fifth college mascot named to this year's team, joining Testudo from Maryland, Jack Rabbit from South Dakota State, Butch T. Cougar from Washington State, and Mike the Tiger from LSU. The other seven finalists will be announced by Aug. 17.

SuperFrog will be featured in this year's Capital One Mascot Challenge television ads, which will be aired nationally on the ABC/ESPN family of networks. In addition, SuperFrog will be featured in other television spots, newspaper ads, Internet media stories, blogs and other on-line videos featured on capitalonebowl.com and youtube.com.

Voting for the mascot of the year begins on Aug. 31. The winner of the All-America Mascot Challenge will be based solely on the number of votes the mascot receives on-line at capitalonebowl.com.

Starting on Aug. 31, TCU fans are encouraged to visit capitalonebowl.com, or click on the Vote SuperFrog button on GoFrogs.com, and cast their votes early and often, as there are no limits on the number of votes an individual may cast.

Previous winners of the Capital One All-America Mascot Challenge include Monte (Montana, 2002 and 2004); Cocky (South Carolina, 2003); Herbie Husker (Nebraska, 2005); Butch T. Cougar (Washington State, 2006); Zippy (Akron, 2007) and Cy (Iowa State, 2009).
