Hunter on Outland Trophy Watch List
July 11, 2013
DALLAS -- TCU defensive tackle Chucky Hunter has been named to the watch list for the Outland Trophy, awarded to the best interior lineman in college football.
Hunter was an All-Big 12 selection last season. He was instrumental in the Horned Frogs topping the conference in six major defensive categories and ranking 16th overall nationally in total defense, despite facing five of the nation's top-13 offenses.
A junior from West Monroe, La., Hunter is one of nine returning defensive starters for TCU this fall.
Hunter totaled 36 tackles last season, including six for loss with 3 1/2 sacks. He equaled a career-high with five stops, including two for loss, in the regular-season finale with Oklahoma.
In 2011, Hunter became the first TCU true freshman to start a game since Kelly Griffin in 2007.
