FORT WORTH, Texas - Thirty-six TCU student-athletes were named to the Fall 2009 Academic All-Mountain West Conference team, as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Headlining the Academic All-MWC honorees were 13 women's soccer players, marking the top group among TCU's five fall athletic squads. The Frog football team placed nine student-athletes on the list, while women's cross country (five), volleyball (five) and men's cross country (four) each garnered multiple individual honors.

A total of 384 student-athletes were named to the Fall 2009 Academic All-Mountain West Conference team. Fall sports include men's and women's cross country, football, women's soccer and women's volleyball.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
