*TCU closed the season at 7-6. It marks the eighth straight year and 11th time in Gary Patterson's 12 seasons as head coach that TCU had a winning record.
*The Horned Frogs appeared in a bowl game for the eighth straight season and 11th time in Patterson's 12 seasons as head coach.
*TCU is now 7-5 in bowl games under Patterson and 9-5 with him on the Horned Frog coaching staff. Prior to his arrival in 1998 as defensive coordinator, TCU had four bowl wins in its history.
*TCU dropped to 13-15-1 in its bowl history.
*Eight of TCU's last nine bowl games have been decided by seven points or less. The Horned Frogs are 5-3 in those contests.
*TCU led 13-0 at the half. It was the first time the Horned Frogs blanked a team in the first half since leading Virginia 14-0 on Sept. 22.
*The Horned Frogs, with just one senior (Kenny Cain) on its defensive depth chart, held Michigan State to just 227 yards of offense.
*Boyce now has 161 career receptions, one shy of Mike Renfro (162, 1974-77) for second place on TCU's career list.
*Matthew Tucker's 28 rushing yards gave him 2,602 in his career, moving him past Aaron Brown (2,596, 2005-08) into 10th place on TCU's career list.
*Tucker's 4-yard first-quarter scoring run was his team-high sixth rushing touchdown of the season and 33rd of his career, placing third on TCU's all-time chart.
*Kolby Listenbee's first collegiate reception was a 59-yard first-quarter grab from Trevone Boykin.
*Jaden Oberkrom's 53-yard field goal with 2:42 remaining in the game was a career-long kick and ranks third all-time in TCU history. It's the Horned Frogs' longest made field goal since Michael Reeder's school record 57-yard effort versus UTEP in 1996.
*Oberkrom also had 47- and 31-yard second quarter field goals to make him 22-of-30 on the season.
*Oberkrom's 22 field goals tie for fourth most in a season at TCU.
*Oberkrom was 11-of-14 on field goals of 40 yards or more this season.
*Kenny Cain and Jason Verrett tied for team-high honors with 12 tackles.
*Cain finished the 2012 campaign with a team-best and career-high 86 stops. He became the first player to top TCU in tackles in back-to-back seasons since Jason Phillips in 2007-08.
*Verrett's 12 tackles, including one for loss, represented a career-high. He added two pass breakups.
*Devonte Fields recorded his team-best 10th sack of the season and closed the year with 18 1/2 tackles for loss.
*Davion Pierson totaled a career-high nine tackles, including 1 1/2 for loss, with a sack, forced fumble and quarterback hurry.
