High School: All-State at punter as a junior and senior... was also first-team All-Houston area his final two years... a three-time all-district selection... also played quarterback and was a first-team all-district pick at that position as well... averaged 45 yards per punt as a senior in addition to passing for 1,300 yards and rushing for 1,200... named Klein Oak's Most Valuable Player... was honorable-mention all-district at quarterback and his school's Most Valuable Offensive Back his junior year... team Offensive MVP as a sophomore... played for Coach David Smith... a three-year letterman in both football and track and field.
