2012: Appeared in all 13 games, making four starts ... had 12 tackles ... also snagged an interception and posted two pass breakups ... posted a solo stop against Grambling State ... had a tackle and his first-career interception in the win at SMU ... contributed three tackles, including two solo at Baylor ... had two solo stops at Oklahoma State and a pass breakup ... all three of his tackles in the win at West Virginia were unassisted and broke up a pass.
2011: Provided solid depth on the defensive line, appearing in all 13 games ... four of his 16 total tackles were behind the line of scrimmage ... posted a career-best six stops, including two for loss, at Air Force ... had a key stop for a loss on a fourth-down attempt by the Falcons on the game's opening series, setting the stage for TCU to take over on downs inside Air Force territory ... contributed five tackles with two for loss against New Mexico ... forced a fumble to go along with a pair of stops against BYU ... collected his first career tackle in the season opener at Baylor.
2010: Did not see game action.
2009: Redshirted in his first season on campus.
High School: Named All-District his junior and senior years ... received All-State Honorable Mention his senior year ... named to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Second-Team Super Team ... also lettered in track and field ... was a regional qualifier in discus and shot put.
Personal: Parents are Tom and Jo Dee Koontz ... earned his TCU degree in May 2013 ... enrolled in TCU's master's of liberal arts program.
