FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU men's basketball head coach Neil Dougherty has announced the departure of junior transfer Aliou Kane, who cited personal reasons for leaving the team. In addition, the Horned Frogs have welcomed freshman walk-on Rob Staky.

Kane, a native of Dallas, Texas, transferred to TCU this year from Collin County Community College. Prior to CCCC, he played one season at Minnesota.

The 6-foot-10 forward has been absent from the last three games, but played the first three of the 2005-06 season where he averaged 5.3 minutes, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 points per outing.

No further comments will be made by coach Dougherty regarding Kane.

On a separate note, Staky joined the Frog squad earlier this season as a walk-on. A product of Regis Jesuit High School in Englewood, Colo., the 6-foot-2 guard lettered three years in men's basketball and was a two-year letterwinner in lacrosse.

Staky, coached by Steve Barnett at Regis Jesuit, averaged 10 points, three rebounds and two assists for the Raiders, who went 15-9 in his senior year.
