Before the TCU men's basketball program begins its regular-season schedule, the Horned Frogs will have a tune-up game at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum on Tuesday (Nov. 6) against LCC International University with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.

The faithful of the Purple and White will have their first opportunity to see the Horned Frogs in action as they welcome the University program from Lithuania. While TCU has been getting plenty of action against one another on the practice court during the last few weeks, this will be the first opportunity for the Horned Frogs to put on their game uniforms and showcase their abilities for the fans that pack the DMC.

"For me, it's an opportunity to see us play against someone else," said TCU head men's basketball coach Neil Dougherty. "This is a dress rehearsal for us, and I have in my mind how the game is going to be scripted as far as playing time goes. With that said, I still want us to look good and perform whoever is in the game."

The Horned Frogs will have plenty of familiar faces in the lineup this season, especially as they return six of their top seven scorers from a season ago, including a pair of Fort Worth, TX, products in Brent Hackett (Fort Worth, TX/Southwest H.S.) and Kevin Langford (Fort Worth, TX/University of California).

Last season, Langford and Hackett were each selected as honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference award winners as they concluded their seasons averaging 13.2 points and 11.2 points per game, respectively.

The Horned Frogs will also return starters from a season ago in seniors Alvardo Parker (South Caicos, Turks & Caicos Islands/Frank Phillips J.C.) and Neiman Owens (Channelview, TX/Channelview H.S.), who recorded 8.8 points and 6.4 points per game, respectively. Parker concluded his junior campaign ranked third in the Mountain West Conference in blocked shots per game at 2.0 while Owens was one of the team's top all-around players last season by ranking in the top three in nine statistical categories.

Fans will also have an opportunity to welcome senior Ryan Wall (Coppell, TX/University of New Mexico) to the court for the Horned Frogs while a number of returning lettermen in Jason Ebie (Houston, TX/Alief Elsik H.S.), Keion Mitchem (Rochester, NY/Rochester East H.S.) and Martiese Morones (Lexington, KY/Millersburg Military Institute).

Bringing even more excitement to the DMC will be the addition of several key newcomers in junior college transfers - John Ortiz (Cali, Colombia/Colby C.C.) and Henry Salter (Gulfport, MS/Mississippi Gulf Coast College) - to go along with freshmen Luke Tauscher (Fort Worth, TX/Southwest H.S.) and Mike Scott (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Learning Center).

"This is a big step for the newcomers because I haven't decided our rotation for the season opener, and I really don't put a lot of emphasis on who starts and who doesn't. Everybody needs to be ready to play because there is a lot at stake for the newcomers as well as the returning players," added Dougherty.

Tip-off for the exhibition contest against LCC International University will be at 7:00 p.m. and admission is FREE to all who pack the house at the DMC.
