Frogs Tip-Off 2010-11 Campaign with Dinner at the DMC Event
Oct. 29, 2010
FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's basketball team held its first annual Dinner at the DMC event where fans were treated to dinner as well as an up-close and personal look at practice run by head coach Jim Christian.
Instead of having a beginning of the season banquet, Christian took a concept that he learned from his former mentor Ralph Willard at Western Kentucky and turned the typical dinner-and-movie date into dinner-and-practice.
Following a catered meal, the crowd of over 100 were treated to a look at a typical practice, including individual and team drills. The fans got their first look at the seven newcomers set to make their TCU debut in NCAA Division I transfers - Hank Thorns and Nikola Gacesa - junior college transfers - Sammy Yeager, J.R. Cadot and Andre Clark - along with freshmen - Amric Fields and Jarvis Ray.
The Frogs will officially open their season on Nov. 12 when TCU welcomes Jackson State to Daniel-Meyer Coliseum with tip-off slated for 8:00 p.m. Central Time.
