TCU Tips Off Season With Dinner at DMC
Oct. 27, 2011
FORT WORTH--The TCU men's basketball team held its second annual Dinner at the DMC event Thursday evening, giving Horned Frog fans their first chance of the season to see the squad in action.
The Frogs, entering their fourth season under head coach Jim Christian, entertained the 100-plus people in attendance with activities both on and off the court. Following a catered meal and brief introduction of the players and staff by Christian, the Frogs went through several practice drills, held a brief scrimmage and even showed off their singing, dancing and acting talents via the DMC video board.
The highlight of the evening came at the end of the night, as junior forward Garlon Green prevailed in a slam dunk contest that also featured senior guard J.R. Cadot, junior forward Connell Crossland, sophomore guard Jarvis Ray and freshman guard Kyan Anderson. Green was chosen as the winner over Ray in the contest's final round by a panel of judges after using the passing skills of senior teammate Hank Thorns, one of the nation's top point guards, to help with his final slam.
