TCU Men's Basketball and U.S. Army Sponsor Jim Christian Coaches Clinic

Jim Christian Basketball Coaches Clinic Brochure The TCU men's basketball program in conjunction with the U.S. Army will be hosting the first annual Jim Christian Basketball Coaches Clinic with special guest Dave Odom on Sunday (Sept. 28) beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Christian begins his first season with the Horned Frogs after being named the 19th head men's basketball coach in TCU history on March 29th. Prior to joining the Purple and White - Christian served as the head men's basketball coach at Kent State where he guided the Golden Flashes to a 138-58 overall record with six consecutive seasons of 20 or more victories. The two-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year guided the Golden Flashes to five postseason appearances - including two berths in the NCAA Tournament. Former Wake Forest and South Carolina head men's basketball coach Dave Odom will be the honorary guest at the Jim Christian Basketball Coaches Clinic. Odom concluded his tremendous coaching career with an overall record of 406-278 - including a trio of NIT championships and a pair of ACC Tournament titles to his credit. Odom was cited as the SEC Coach of the Year in 2004 and garnered ACC Coach of the Year accolades in 1991, 1994 and 1995. The Jim Christian Basketball Coaches Clinic will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum with registration. Events will be planned throughout the day with Dave Odom holding forum from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Following Odom - coaches will be treated to a catered lunch sponsored by the U.S. Army. Jim Christian will conclude the clinic with a forum as well as on-court demonstrations. The Jim Christian Basketball Clinic is slated for $15 per coach and staff discounts of $50 for the entire coaching staff.
