TCU Downs Guardsmen Alumni Saturday Night

OTTAWA, Canada - Junior Kyan Anderson scored 14 points Saturday night to lead TCU to a 52-42 victory over the Guardsmen Alumni at the Ravens' Nest on the Carleton University campus.
Anderson paced the Horned Frogs, who led by as many as 18 Saturday, on the offensive end of the court, going 5-of-10 from the field for a team-high 14 points, which included a seven-point outing in the opening frame of play. Fellow junior Devonta Abron was also in double-figures on the night, scoring 12 points on 3-of-3 from the floor, while also grabbing nine boards.
Willy Manigat carried the Guardsmen Alumni with a game-high 15 points. No other player scored in double-figures for the Alumni. In all, the Frogs' relentless defensive pressure forced the the Alumni into shooting 12-of-50 from the field, including a 4-for-19 showing in the first half. All four of the Alumni's field goals came from behind the arc.
The Frogs did most of their damage inside the paint Saturday, outscoring the Guardsmen Alumni, 24-5. TCU also out-rebounded the Alumni, 40-25.
The Purple and White return to the Ravens' Nest Sunday for a match-up against Carleton University at 7 p.m. EDT.
